Squashed in the Attic
The setting of the play is Levels High Community College in the small town of Ruskaxe, a hundred miles or so north of New York. Karla is an attractive 19-year-old sophomore Biology major. Jimmy is Karla’s ex-boyfriend and a third year Sports Science Student and the current captain of the campus football team. Dean Ferry is Karla classmate and a long term secret admirer of hers.
Having broken up with Jimmy for cheating on her at will with the football groupies, Karla starts warming up to Dean, a boy whose attention she has been dodging all along.  Dean is more than pleased that Karla is finally beginning to see the light, so to speak. The two could now be seen almost everywhere in campus and in the evenings you could bet they would be at the squash court where Dean would be teaching Karla a trick or two.    But unbeknownst to the two is that Jimmy is burning with envy seeing as is Karla seems happy with Dean. Jimmy appeals to Karla to comeback to him but it is a little late in the day as Karla has taken a special liking to Dean and vice versa. Seething with revenge, Jimmy steals Dean’s cell phone and uses it to lure Karla to the squash court over and then ties her up and takes her to the attic. But unknown to Jimmy, Dean’s phone is attached to a tracking device and he is able to track it to in the nick of time to smash Jimmy’s head.
The play message cannot be understated and I like it all the more for it. And as it is there is an underlying moral in a play.
