The Potential of Ranch Paradise as Tourist Destination in Clark Field Pampanga

This thesis contributes new and unique evidence to the debates how Ranch Paradise became a tourist destination in Clark field Pampanga. Through the use of documentary evidence it investigates both potential and environmental research of the tourist. Asking some people that already have been in Ranch Paradise to know some comments. To raise consciousness on sustainable development and provide a constituency for environmental issues through simple ways like continuous tree planting, protection and rescuing of wildlife, and recycling of wastes as a contribution to help avert global warming and climate change and to promote and undertake community-based resource management strategies for sustainable livelihood for targeted beneficiaries. In this thesis we envisage that Paradise Ranch will becomethe premier tourist destination in Clark field Pampanga for educational field trips, tourists and guests who share a common advocacy toward creating communities who are environmentally aware and responsible stewards of the environment and a model environment project for non-profit NGOs in promoting responsible charity and livelihoods for the less privileged in our society.

CHAPTER 1 – INTRODUCTION
Background and context to this study

Paradise Ranch is an environmental project design to educate children and the general public on protecting the environment and saving wildlife. it is located on the hills of Clark Air Base, with fog and temperature comparable to Tagaytay and Baguio, a million dollar view of the entire Clark Zone, surrounding cities and towns, overlooking the Sacobia River, Mt. Pinatubo, Mt. Arayat and other mountains and majestic sceneries for everybody to enjoy without and membership. Paradise Ranch is a 50-hectare joint eco-tourism project of the Philippine Children’s Fund of America and Sitio Moncayo in Bario Secovia, Pampanga. It is a 15-minutes dirt-road drive from Nayon Filipino sa Clark. Unlike the Paradizoo Farm Ranch in Tagaytay, there are not too many animals in Paradise Ranch. But there were already some Ostriches and Peacocks as well as an herd of ducks freely roaming in the man-made lagoon. But despite the absence of zoo animals, guests can still enjoy Paradise Ranch if only because of its lush greeneries and uphill terrain which offers a great view if you have the stamina to trek a few miles uphill to reach the Prayer Hill.

At top the Prayer Hill you will a nice vantage view of the nearby Clark area and of course the great cloudy skies above. To compensate for the lack of attractions, Paradise Ranch is offering paid function rooms and villas where guests can use for a fee. On top of the hill are two guest houses which can be rented for 5,000-6,000 per night. The guest houses have two rooms each and a complete house facilities. The rate maybe quite stiff but I guess it is good enough in exchange for the serenity and peacefullness of the place. It’s a perfect getaway place for city dwellers during weekends. Paradise ranch in Clark Pampanga has a clear advocacy for assisting AmerAsians (half Americans and half Asians) to reunite with their long lost mothers or fathers who are US citizens. They get financial support from their organization based in Sacramento California. As part of their advocacies, another objective of the organization is to employ the native Aetas who live in a community surrounding the ranch.

They are good workers very much dedicated well-skilled on farming and raising crops. Some AmerAsians speak fluent English language so they are effective on serving as tourist guides for ranch guests. During the holidays, when school is off, Paradise ranch in Pampanga Philippines also extends support to the students wanting to have part time jobs working at the ranch to support their parents and siblings. You will notice a very friendly atmosphere when you stay at the ranch, superb service since the team of workers adheres to the guests’ standards. They are very approachable and reliable which will definitely make the guests feel at ease.When you stay in an area overlooking the entire Clark Zone,you get the chance to have a scenic view of Sacobia River, Mt. Pinatubo, and Mt. Arayat among others. This place is the ideal venue for field trips, family vacation time, team buildings or workshops/seminars, camping, garden weddings, retreats, conferences and other events that require a very good ambiance conducive for relaxing the mind and body. This is a perfect place for Hiking, Nature tripping, sight seeing when you want to get away from the city life and feel at one with nature for a while.
