Chinese Festival

Chinese New Year holds the most significant position among all Chinese festivals and holidays. The Chinese New Year is accompanied by a belief in good future. Chinese New Year is also called Spring Festival (1). Putting the spring festival scrolls up, hanging the lanterns, having reunion meals, having dumplings, sitting up late and waiting for the ring of the New Year are all Spring Festival’s customs. (2)

Spring Festival is the day for family reunions. On New Year’s Eve, every family often gets together for dinner to welcome in the New Year. The custom is also call “surrounding the hearth”. It symbolizes a family’s unity and harmony. In fact, Chinese New Year’s food is very important to Chinese people. , Traditional dishes include fish, spring roll, sticky rice cake, chicken, noodles, dumplings, sweet lotus seeds and so on. Incidentally, Chinese New Year’s food is not only delicious, but also has symbolic significance. (great use of word!!) For instance, fish sounds like “save more”. Chinese people always like to save more money at the end of the year because they think if they save more, they can make more in the next year. Sticky rice cake sounds like getting higher year by year, and can imply children’s growth in height, improvement in study, or business, etc. New Year’s dinner is best eaten slowly (great use of passive! ), savoring the flavor of each dish. We often do many activities during New Year. For example, people believe that burning incense on the first day will bring the whole family good fortune in the coming year. They also wish for health for their parents and a stable and peaceful life for themselves and make New Year’s wishes come true (3). In addition, we often clean our home in time for the New Year because cleaning the house at this time of year will “sweep away the bad luck” that has accumulated inside over the past year. Also cleaning makes the house ready for good luck to start entering again. Meanwhile, we decorate our home with red because red is the color or symbol of good luck in Chinese culture. Moreover, we often take a shower and wear new clothes after cleaning the house.

On the New Year’s eve, people often count down hours, minutes, and seconds before the New Year arrives, and we set off firecrackers and fireworks. This has been the most practiced custom during the Spring Festival because people think the spluttering sound could help drive spirits away. On the other hand, Spring Festival is a good time for relatives, friends, colleagues to exchange greeting, gifts and chat. Friends meet together to share what have happened in their lives during the past year, talk about their plans for the coming year, and otherwise (good use of “otherwise” here!) enjoy their time together. Friend and relatives also exchange red envelops containing lucky money, as a gift for the Chinese New Year.

Spring Festival is a most important festival every year in China. All the people look forward to this festival. I love the Spring Festival, many people shoot off fireworks on New Year’s Eve and everywhere is full of happy atmosphere. If you come to China, you will enjoy it.(4)

sitting up late and waiting for…” are all noun phrases for the main clause “are all Spring Festival’s customs”. So you don’t need “We often”.
(3) This sentence had too many “ands”, and was getting complicated. It can be fixed this way:

For example, people believe that burning incense on the first day will bring the whole family good fortune, health for their parents and a stable and peaceful life for themselves in the coming year. They believe that doing this will make their New Year’s wishes come true.

I think the advice here is: try to maintain parallelism. When it doesn’t work, e.g. the subject is different, start a new sentence.
