In today’s society, people are exposing our planet to more harmful chemicals every day. The chemicals are able to help in succeeding with some experiments and new inventions, but too much of it is causing great damage to our environment. For example, contamination of chemicals can occur in the water we drink. In-taking the water is dangerous for everyone and can most likely affect our health. Also, too many chemicals can add a huge amount of pollution in an area, which affects the air we breathe and cause possibly even death. What makes these chemicals bad for our health is mainly because of how they are spread through our entire environment. Then, sadly, there have been some cases where all these chemicals lead to individuals getting cancer and is difficult to survive because of how harsh the chemicals are. The purpose of controlling how many chemicals are used is to ensure the safety of other human beings and the environment that surrounds us. Although chemicals can be of assistance in our daily lives, they are extremely hazardous for us in the long run.

Many can agree that the exposure of an excessive amount of chemicals should be banned, but some may disagree. Believe it or not, chemicals are actually part of a person’s daily life. There are some people that are okay with chemicals all around because they are used for other reasons. For example, chemicals are used for cleaning materials for a home and help fight off any bacteria that may be on surfaces. As for the environment, people use mostly pesticides and other chemicals to protect the crops that are being grown. In other words, many farmers would not be happy about chemical use being decreased.

They will highly disagree with decreasing the amount of chemicals and think it is unfair by cutting the supply that they can so easily get access to. Back to the specific chemical, pesticide, are used for pest control, such as roaches and other pests. As for an industry, herbicide, are used to control anything that may clog waterways or possibly obstruct a highway it is unfair by cutting the supply that they can so easily get access to.

There are a number of dangerous chemicals that affect our environment and us. One of these harmful chemicals are called Organochlorines, which were developed for for the use in electric equipment as cooling agents; unfortunately, these chemicals are very dangerous and millions have gallons have already leaked, being found in marine species such as mammals and sea birds. Other chemicals are called Dioxins, which are super toxic for not only the environment, but especially for humans and probably one of the most dangerous of them all. What is also horrifying to know is that the harmful chemicals are one of the main causes of cancer. Then, nuclear waste will remain dangerous to our health for many years to come, leaving a poisonous journey for the future generations.

Almost all of these chemicals exist in the forms and amounts that they do because of people using them for agricultural, industrial, and many activities as well. Many of the chemicals that we produce don’t get used in a productive way-that is, they are wasted, disposed of, and/or left abandoned. In fact, if you have lived anywhere in the world sometime during the past several decades, you have been exposed to many toxic substances as well. Whether chemicals help in some way or not, they are still a hazard to human health and the environment.

Back in 1962, Rachel Carson informed the public about the horrifying effects that chemicals had on the environment and health problems of humans. It took 10 years for the United States to get rid of chemical combinations. Canada and the USA have created laws to try to stop the illegal dumping of toxic wastes and the destruction of our environment. The government has made a list of dangerous dumps and is forcing the company that owns the land to pay for the cleanliness of the area. If the company no longer exists, or the place of the waste is not known, the government will pay for the clean-up. Some toxic wastes can actually be turned into something recycled. . For example, several kinds of metals can be recycled. Other toxic wastes can be chemically be made into new products. This process is done by adding chemicals to the waste, which causes it to change into something different.

Either way, chemical use is good and bad. Luckily, there are a number of ways that people can do to regulate the usage. We can begin to limit how much is used or possibly have chemicals that are not as strong and effective to the environment or humans. The laws should be fairly strict though, so individuals will know that it is a serious matter. Much of our world is polluted with chemicals, due to the fact that we need them in some form or another. They are a part of our everyday lives. Although it is great for awhile to use, in the long run, they are extremely hazardous to our health and our planet, killing of many plants and affecting the species of animals. Scientists have predicted that a number of species will go extinct, most likely under water sea creatures, due to the chemicals of toxic waste going into the ocean. Hopefully, many chemicals will be limited to a certain amount and not be so exposed up to the point where it has negative effects on any living organisms.

As the days go by, many are discovering what chemicals are being used and how they are affecting the environment. Also, certain types of health conditions have developed in some people due to the over exposure of chemicals. Some do not realize how chemicals affect us and our planet, we should all be more aware of them. It is important to keep our environment and all living things safe, we will be saving our planet by knowing the significance.

Perhaps there should be events and presentations showing us ways to keep our planet safe and see how the after math will be by doing so. As of right now, we are most likely breathing in some hazardous chemicals as we speak and we aren’t even aware of it. The planet is our home and we should treat it as such. Without regulations, our world will continue to rot and crumble with all that is polluting our air and spreading throughout the environment. In conclusion, although chemicals can be helpful in our daily lives, too much of them can cause a huge amount of damage to our environment, which will destroy our health.
