Measure twice cut once

“Measure twice cut once…” is what most carpenters go by, but it can also be used for a guideline for ones life. What I mean is when someone is going to make a decision that is going to affect their life in a big or small way They should think about it before they go doing immediately. Finding out that you’ve messed up hurts really badly.

I learned the hard way. My life was going good. I had decent grades at school, my family was getting along, and one Friday evening me and my older brother were running an errand for my mom. She was working at our Church doing some things with some of the other ladies of the church to help out for Sunday morning. She told us to pick up a pizza at Wal-mart and head to the house, so me and my brother got in his car and headed to Wal-mart. When we got there we went straight for the auto. accessories like we always do when we go toWal-mart. When we got over there my big brother was looking around and I was just tagging along so I said, “Lets get the pizzas and go” he said, “ok” reluctantly. So we went and got the pizzas and was headed to the checkout line and he said . “lets go back to the auto. Section for a minute.”

I said ok and went with him, when we got there he went straight back to the section where we were at before and picked up some tire-flies and began to open them. I said, “what the heck are you doing?” and he said, “I’m not paying ten dollars for these things” so he stuffed them in his pocket and put the package back on the shelf. I had a bad feeling about what was happening, so I said, “lets go.”and as we were headed to the checkout line I had an overwhelming sensation of curiosity so I picked up a tube of candy and was planning on purchasing it and when I picked it up my hand went straight into my pocket. When my brother payed for the pizzas we were on our way out the door when two undercover police men walked up in front of us and said, “we want our stuff back” and put us in hand cuffs after we gave them the stuff we attempted to steal.

I kept saying to my self is this really happening, is this really happening. And they took us to the back room in Wal-mart and got all our information and told my big brother that he was going to jail, and they told me if they cant get a hold of my parents then they were taking me to waycross to the youth detention center. So they called my mom and told her she needed to pick me up fromWal-mart and she picked me up and they put my brother in a police car and took him downtown. My motherwas crying and didn’t know what to do so she went back to the church to pray and some of the women that she was working with, were still there and asked what was wrong and she told one of them so the other lady prayed with my mom and went with her to bail my brother out. I was scared that night. But I made a decision to steal thatcandy and I was caught doing it, if I would have thought it over, I would have probably payed for the candy, but

I was stupid and didn’t think before I acted. As for my brother he hasn’t stolen anything since that night, cause we both learned our lesson the hard way.

Everyone makes mistakes and some do it because they don’t have a clue what they are doing. Drunk drivers killed 17,013 people in the year 2003. All because they didn’t think twice about driving while drunk. If everyone would just take a second and think about what they are going to do then this world would be a much safer place to live in.” Measuring” your decisions twice and “cutting” it, would be the best thing for everyone.

Through the arrest at Wal-mart to the many decisions I have to chose everyday I’ve learned a valuable lesson that I wish everyone could understand and if everyone would understand this than we all would execute or daily activities with precision and a more professional quality. Being precise and professional about things is a big deal to some people and to some it isn’t. To me it’s a big thing even though I don’t do it all the time doesn’t mean I don’t try to do it all the time.

What im trying to say is that if every one would “measure” twice before they act then the “cutting” would be more professional like and with a more precise touch.
