Life can be sweet, but it can also be bitter. you may think that things will come easily, but truth be told…they don’t. you sometimes have to work very hard to achieve the goals you want in life, but always remember to stay strong and don’t let anyone tell you that you are not good enough. When you open a box of assorted chocolates, what do you see? Some people look, and they know that there are some chocolates mixed in there that are absolutely horrid, and they do their best to escape them. Others see the candies and know that one of them won’t be as nice as the others, but they eat them all anyways.

However, a few people gaze into the box and see an opportunity for surprise with each morsel. In the movie Forrest Gump, the concept of destiny is viewed by the characters in various different ways. Lieutenant Dan believes in predetermined destiny, Jenny spends her entire life trying to take control of her destiny, and Forrest simply takes life one step at a time, believing that destiny is about the journey. Although each character is faced with poor circumstances, Forrest’s view about destiny leads him through the best life compared to the others. Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates. Forrest Gump is definitely my favourite movie and my favourite quote is from that movie as well. “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get” was what Forrest Gump’s mother always said to him. Life is like a box of chocolate and there is truth to it, you never know what you are going to get until you have had the same chocolates a few times and you learn what they look like.

Each box of chocolates is different and there is no way of knowing what is in each chocolate until bitten into. Therefore, like a box of chocolates, life is just a mystery that we come to comprehend as we bite into each new day. Exactly, life is a mystery, tomorrow is a new day and no one knows what will happen next. Life is always fluid because the unexpected and even unimaginable can and does happen at any time. All things, scenarios, events can shift their course at anytime, from bad to good, from good to bad.

My life is exactly full of many obstacles and surprises like a box of chocolate. I have tasted the sweet and bitter part, gone through the ups and downs. Whenever I was down, this quote took its place and made me realized that it was not always the obstacle that I had been faced with that defined me, but rather how I overcome it and what I become from it as a result. This is what makes me distinctive and unique. The obstacles that I have faced and overcome helped shape me into who I am today.

I always do my best and try to remember to remain positive and upbeat when under dire stress. I appreciate the best while I can and learn to accept the very worst. I cannot change what has done; I cannot go back in time.
