1. The publicly funded Canadian institution must apply on behalf of the international candidate. 2. An inter-institutional exchange agreement between the Canadian institution and the candidate’s home university or college MUST be in place at the time of application for an undergraduate student. 3. While not compulsory, an inter-institutional agreement is desirable when applying for a graduate student. However, if there is no existing graduate exchange, graduate research applications which involve a new or established collaboration between professors from a Canadian and foreign university will be considered. 4. More than one exchange program at a given university or college may apply. 5. Applications submitted directly by the applicant will not be accepted nor redirected. 6. A recipient cannot normally hold any other major scholarships granted by the government of Canada. 7. Priority will be given to candidates who have not previously studied in Canada under a Canadian government scholarship. 8. Graduate students can arrive to Canada between August 2011 and March 1, 2012. 9. Failure to arrive by March 1, 2012 will result in the cancellation of the offer or agreement. The Swedish Institute provides scholarships in Sweden to highly-qualified international students from developing countries who wants to study at Sweden Universities.Scholarships are intended for studies in Sweden starting in the fall semester 2013 (August) and focus mainly on master’s level. A few scholarships will be awarded for studies at Bachelor’s level.Host Universities/Institutions: Participating Swedish Higher Education Institutions and Swedish Universities.Field(s) of study: About 600 different study programs at Swedish universities are eligible for a scholarship. The programs have been selected by the Swedish universities and cover a wide variety of study areas. See the list of eligible study programs under the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships.Number of Scholarships: For the academic year of 2013/2014 about 140 scholarships will be offered. According to the instructions of the Swedish Government, no country can exceed 25% of the granted scholarships.

Scholarship value/inclusions: The scholarship covers both the tuition fee (which is paid directly to the Swedish university/university college by the Swedish Institute) and living expenses to the amount of SEK 9,000 per month. Scholarship holders will also receive a travel grant in connection with the scholarship. The travel grant is a one-time payment of SEK 15,000. Scholarship holders will be insured by the Swedish State Group Insurance against illness and accident during the scholarship period.Eligibility: The scholarships are intended for students from the above-mentioned target group for full time studies in Sweden. There is no age limit for scholarship holders.Scholarships cannot be granted for students who:• Have already lived in Sweden for two years or more previous to the scholarship period. • Have a Swedish permanent residence or work permit.
