Internet Dating: Should you do it or not?

The content of my speech is all about the disadvantages of internet dating. Let me bring all of you exploring a new world of cyber-dating and how internet dating changes your life or worst, your personality.

Now, let me tell you why you should not enroll yourself in a cyber-dating world, the internet dating by the first disadvantage. First, it can be addictive. Some people, especially teenage are the majority that has been involved in internet dating end up with unhealthy relationship and poor time management in their studies. Since many online daters have profiles in more than one site, this means they’re getting responses from all over the place and from many different groups and types of people. Even though you already found someone special, you may still be online, looking for other people because it is so interesting to get the attention from the whole world and it is so addictive. So, in essence, it does something for your ego that is very false.

We have seen how internet dating can be so addictive and now let’s take a look how it can also rise almost all fake and false profile. People may give you a photograph that is ten years old when they take the best photograph that they ever have or a touched up photograph which is not really them. Clear signs that the photo may be fake are strange backgrounds that might indicate a stock image, photos that appear professionally taken and photos that seem old rather than current. Profiles can be false like changing their names, age, and their gender to make themselves sound as appealing to others and take it too extremes.

Last but not the least, the other disadvantage of internet dating is expensive. While online dating may at first seem cheaper than normal dating, like you don’t need to pay for your food, drinks or cab ride with your date, and the truth is that most matchmaking sites charge a fee. Some internet dating sites charge far too much money and some will not allow us to view the profiles of other people until we become a member and pay the fees. Some websites also charge a basic membership fee for setting up an account, but you will need to pay extra to receive messages, contact members or expand your profile. Also, you may not able to see the type of ads available on the site until you pay for a membership and once you do, there’s always a chance that nothing there will match with your taste or preferences.

In conclusion, it is convincing that internet dating is addictive, rise lots of fake profiles and costly charge. Safety must be at the forefront of your mind, both when giving personal information to other people you don’t know and if you choose to meet a date out in public, always tell someone who you are with, where you are going and what time you expect to be home. So, what makes you still want to find your soulmate in that cyber world? Trust me guys; you are handsome enough to find your girls in the real world and girls, your hot enough to find your prince charming in front of your eyes.
