Being from the sports background, I always wished my country to be the champions in sports in different disciplines may be Cricket, Hockey etc etc. My wishes were limited to sports but never thought of imagining India of my Dream in a vast context till the said topic was given for assignment. While going through the sources, I happen to read Dr. Abdul Kalamā€™s question to one little girl, what was her dream for India? She replied ā€œI dream of a developed Indiaā€. Giving a thought to what she said, I learned that her answer may be short but her dream was very big. Now it was a time for me to think of the same issue…thatā€™s India of my dream. This is a topic, which is as deep like an ocean which has dangerous Sharks as well as the beautiful pearls. There is so much to dream about India; so much to cherish, so much to wish for, so much to hate and so much to desire about it. The real problem is what to write down and what to omit. Before going towards the future, I thought to just turn aback n have a look at the India in past. India has long sad history of our existence as a country under the ruling of Mugals, Nizams and the most awful, the British. After the huge exploitation of our motherland by these emperors, India attained independence on August 15, 1947. What has she achieved during Sixty Five plusā€¦ years of freedom?

Though there has been considerable progress, the overall picture of life in the country is depressing. What with spiraling prices and growing unemployment, the common man remains as poor as he had been. Though education has spread, its standard and quality have received a set – back. Not is the political scene very encouraging. While the working of democracy is not satisfactory, the forces of religion, these Nakshalwad has become a a threat to the unity of the country. Our leaders lack the qualities of idealism, integrity and self – sacrifice, which were abundantly in evidence during the days of the struggle for freedom. There was once a time when our great India, was considered a ā€˜Golden Birdā€™ because of its riches, vast natural resources and the great, bright future. It was expected to have in store, our rich, cultural heritage, old civilization and vast knowledge in every aspect of life. No wonder, foreigners had been taking keen interest in our country right from the dawn of their awakening. But at last, it is all lost now. Gone are the days of past glory, riches, respect and attraction.

The country has witnessed a sharp decline in its over-all imageĀ and we have now become a nation, inviting disrespect, neglect and indifference from outsiders. I as an Indians, I am proud of our united and rich culture and rich heritage, proud of secular democracy, proud of its diversity and proud of its beautiful natural resources. But there are many dreadful aspects I wished India getting rid of. So, here I am dreaming about India, my motherland that has given me so much that I will forever remain in her debt. India of my dream is, naturally, the same full of peace, prosperity, wealth, cultural heritage, and immense knowledge. I want to see it free from the problems that are bringing bad name, destroying peace and creating unrest and despair among the peoples. There are a lot many things I personally dreams to happen for the glory of our country, summarized below. But the most important in my belief is Terrorist and Free India and most Secular nation with high literacy rate. This 4 major issues if tackled effectively, we would probably have a wonderful India.

TERROR FREE INDIA

To begin with, I dream of having a terrorist free India. We have faced several attacks and sadly lost life of many soldiers. I dream our entire military force destroys all the terrorist in such a way that no other country will ever think of attacking India ever.

CORRUPTION FREE INDIA

Corruption has badly destroyed India. Its roots are deepened and spread vast. I dream of uprooting these parasites and having a clean and corruption free India where not only politicians but all the citizens will be clean handed.

HIGH LITERACY RATE

I dream of India where each one is educated, there is employment for all and everyone is satisfied and happy. There would be free and compulsory primary education for all. All men, women and children would be educated and no one would remain illiterate. With the spread of education, check on the rising population would, naturally, follow. Everyone would have a happy family of one or two children who would be well-fed and properly clothed.

UNITED INDIA

This is the area where we have achieved a success and that too a major one. We are able to strengthen India as a nation by strengthening the Indian unity politically, economically and emotionally and pushing forward the
process of nation-in-the-making. I dream of India where there will be no inequality, poverty, social injustice, illiteracy, gender discrimination, social domination, corruption, casteism and communalism and people will have an improved and good quality of life.

CLEAN INDIA HEALTHY INDIA
I dream that Care should be taken to keep a high standard of hygiene and sanitation. Health is a major area of concern too. India needs improvement in terms of sanitation, potable drinking water and proper healthcare facilities at village-level. I also dream of an India where market places, roads are spotlessly clean, where the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained where garbage is not spilling on the roads and animals are not roaming around on the streets.

CONTROL ON POPULATION

Once the control on population is achieved, unemployment too would be non-existent. Every eligible person would have a job according to his aptitude and ability. Discontentment with job or salary would vanish. Men and women would be found highly satisfied EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

One of the most important factors that cal lead to radical change in the standard and quality of life is availability of employment opportunities. There is no much employment opportunities or the demand is very low. Also, it is an irony that a Mechanical or Electrical engineering student has to work in the field of IT because opportunities are very few in the core sectors. I dream of India where there will be jobs available in each city and people will not have to migrate to other cities. This will also reduce the burden on the resources of the cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, etc. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

I dream of an India, where many scientists are engaged in doing significant researches, an India, which would be known for great scientific and technological advancements. An India, which is a leader in making new discoveries/inventions. An India with an excellent network of roads and bridges connecting even the remotest parts of the country. An India, where sustainable growth and development go hand in hand. INDUSTRIALISED AND
MODERNIZED INDIA

My ideal India is industrialised and modernised. Without industrialisation a high standard of life is impossible. I dream our country to become almost self dependent in most of the resourceā€™s possible and we are the supplier of the entire world. GREEN INDIA BEAUTIFUL INDIA

I dream of an India, where farmers are respected as much as any other professional. Government providing them with all the safety in case of loss of production etc. I dream that deforestation would be history. Instead every person plants and cares for a minimum of 10 to 20 trees in his life time where Man lives in harmony with Nature. This is the India of my dream- this is the India in which I want to live-the India of which I am a proud citizen. ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL EQUALITY

In the India of my dreams, everybody has enough money. Though money is not the end of life, sufficient money is essential to the development of one’s personality. This general prosperity goes hand in hand with economic and social equality. The wide gulf between the rich and the poor that exists today has largely disappeared. I must emphasise that all this co – exists with democracy. People have freedom of thought and expression. An India in which there shall be no high class and no low class of people; an India where all communities will live in a perfect harmony. RESPECT TOWARDS WOMEN

Worst thing frequently happening today is assaulting and disrespecting women. I dream and wish ahead to have a complete end to this practice. I see that Women are respected and they enjoy the same rights as men. We shall be at peace with all the rest of the world. Every Indian feeling proud of being an Indian. Where people are not afraid of leaving their houses open and there is no crime in the country. CHAMPION INDIA

Looking at the medal tally of Olympic Games, we sadly understand the status of Indian Sports. Except in Cricket and Chess, our existence is negligible. The glory of Hockey team gained in Olympic is well known and we are struggling now to even get qualify in Olympics which is very shameful. We
are similar status with China in terms of Population, which should have been similar in terms of development and Sports. I dream of India to dominate each and every sportā€™s we play. I dream of India equipped with advanced infrastructure, sports equipments, qualified coaches and dedicated sportsmenā€™s with all their interest in getting glory in sports and not in advertising and modelling. DISCIPLINED INDIA

We, the Indians, in my opinion are the most undisciplined lot. I donā€™t understand why we canā€™t follow rules and regulations. I dream of India where people will follow rules and regulations properly and with due respect to the law of the land. While driving we always tend to break laws. I dream of India where people will be more disciplined and will care for others. No doubt we still have strive hard hand in hand because there is miles to go. We still face the challenges of poverty, diseases, illiteracy, inequality, social backwardness and gender and caste discrimination and oppression. But I still love my country and I am very proud to be born in India. I dream of a shining India, a democratic and a secular nation taking an importance place among the United Nations Organization. This is my India, a great country dominating internationally, a land of peace, prosperity in Wealth and safety.
