Community Service Project Ideas

Self-protection is really important for individuals living in a society because it enables us to safeguard ourselves from any harm. An individual should always be prepared to face all the situations and should learn to stay safe while making their contribution to the society. Therefore, I have decided to educate my community about the need and importance of self protection. I have chosen self-defense as my community service project.

Community Service Project Committee
The first step required while planning my project is to create a committee for my community service project. The committee for my project will include the most responsible friends of mine. Lucy, one of my friends, is a strong advocate of self-defense education, so she will be responsible to invite certain psychologists and self-defense instructors to our event. I will assign the task of managing the budget of the committee to Jacob, so he will be my finance manager. The task of finding an appropriate venue will be given to Sarah. The task of advertising our project will be assigned to Adam because he has great advertising skills. I will be the head of the committee and will arrange the event and take care of the supplies.

Identifying the Project
The main purpose of our project is to educate the members especially the young members of our community regarding self-defense. We want to raise awareness among the young members of our community to prevent and stop assault as a means to resolve conflict and to support young people to empower themselves so that they can direct their lives in the right manner and achieve personal growth. Moreover, we want them to learn to how to be healthy, identify the challenges, and make a positive contribution for self and society while staying safe.

Goals of the Project
The main goal of this project is to educate the young people how they can keep themselves safe. It aims to provide constructive ways to manage the issues the young people can face on a daily basis. It will also teach them the responsibility that they have towards themselves and others. We will encourage students to get enrolled in self-defense classes as it would be helpful not for them but others as well.

Tasks
There are certain tasks that we will be required to complete during our project. So the next step will be to make a list of those tasks. Sarah has the responsibility to find a venue and according to her the community hall is the best place for our event. Lucy, on the other hand, will invite a self-defense instructor and a psychologist who will tell the importance of the self-defense. I will take care of all the supplies and materials that will be required in our event. Jacob, our finance manager, will take care of the finance and if required would ask for donations. And lastly, our advertising manager will not only advertise the whole event through banners, fliers, and social media but will also make some influential videos for our event.
Time Line

The event for our community service project will take place on November, 1st. So, the timeline for certain tasks is listed below to avoid any issues later on.
28th October: Lucy will talk to the guests and would remind them of the day of the event. We will also collect donations for our event.
29th October: I will look after the supplies and will arrange everything needed in the event from banners to the fliers and everything else.
30th October: We will distribute the fliers and invitation cards among the members of the community and our advertising manager will work on advertising the event.
31st October: We will recheck everything to ensure that no problems would come up on the day of the event.

Schedule Our seminar will take place on November, 1st at 5:00 PM. All committee members will reach the venue at 2:00 PM to make the arrangements. By 3:00 PM we would have arranged everything at the venue with the help of our volunteers and around 4:00 PM, all of us would be ready to welcome our guests and for the event too.

Participants
As the purpose of our project is to educate specifically the young members of our community regarding self-defense, so the participants in our project will be the students and also some volunteers. This project will not only raise awareness among them but would prove helpful in their future lives.

Assessment
At the end of our event, we would check the outcomes, whether we have achieved our goals or not. We have decided to conduct a question answer session in which the community members would ask questions from the experts and after that a questionnaire would be distributed to gain feedback from the community members regarding the event and our performance.
