Why There Should Be a Dress Code in Schools

First of all, you should know that having a dress code is the right choice for the middle school. Having a dress code will make the school more presentable and look more professional. Students don’t have to worry about what to wear to school and be less self conscious. It is also cheaper than buying new “trendy” wardrobes.

A dress code will make the Harvey School look more professional. Visitors during the school year would be more likely to join because we look more presentable. It creates a more a more studious environment and help reduce the amount of bullying and violence in the school. Students will be more focused during class because they won’t be surrounded by a distracting fashion show.

Keeping the dress code policy will make kids feel less self conscious and better that they don’t have to worry about what to wear to school in the morning. This will also decrease the number of late students arriving at school in the morning, providing more time for education. You can also get more sleep this way because it takes you less time to get ready in the morning. Since there is a dress code, students will not get judged as much of what they are wearing.

Maintaining the dress code in the Harvey School will also save the students money. Since the approximate $30,000 a year is quite a hefty price for tuition. The dress code will save the students money because you won’t have to buy all the new “trendy” clothes. Though you will still be able express your individuality because you will have choices on what to wear in the morning. You can still pick what color, brand and style. Uniforms however do not allow you to have any freedom because you wear the same thing EVERY day.

Therefore, it is clear that the Harvey School should continue with the dress code policy and not switch to uniforms. While looking fine and presentable, you will still be able to express your individuality while not having to buy the new and expensive “in style” clothing. Uniforms however does not allow you to express yourself. It also help students mentally by putting less stress on them on what to wear in the morning. Honestly no students would want uniforms, so please, keep the dress code.
