Effective Sports Leader

Scenario: You are employed by the local council as a Senior Sports Leader working out of a local sports centre. You have a variety of roles to fulfil, from raising awareness of sports leadership within the area, to training the newly recruited sports leaders, to working alongside them demonstrating good practice in leading activity sessions. You have been given the task of inducting these new recruits for their initial training before they can work independently within the area.

Assignment 1: Effective Sports Leaders Poster (P1, M1, D1) As Senior Sports Leader, one of your targets is to increase the team of sports leaders working within the U16 school sports programme. You are to produce an eye catching poster which is both informative and visually appealing, identifying a range of qualities, characteristics and roles of effective sports leaders. The poster is to be displayed within the sports centre and should be aimed at raising awareness of sports leaders and their skills. Describe, by giving a clear account of 4 qualities, 4 characteristics and 4 roles common to effective sports leaders, include all relevant points. (P1) Explain by setting out in detail the meaning of 4 qualities, 4 characteristics and 4 roles common to effective sports leaders. (M1) Analyse 4 qualities, 4 characteristics and 4 roles common to effective sports leaders. Link your descriptions to examples of effective sports leaders stating how they are related, why they are important and how each one contributes to effective sports leadership. (D1) Important notes for this assignment: Check spelling, grammar and punctuation throughout. The poster should include relevant illustrations and pictures to enhance the appeal and catch attention. Four examples for each, making twelve in total. For distinction, research your leaders and back up your points given for merit with quotes, statistics etc Remember always reference your research.
