Effective communication is playing nowadays one of the most important roles in organizations and companies, because it is the only source of mutual understanding among nurses and patients, employees and directors. Future success of a leader mainly depends on his ability to use language and to communicate effectively not only within organization, but also across cultural boundaries.

Learning effective communication is nowadays necessity, it is not only an option. Studying effective communication will help to achieve goals within and outside the native country. Understanding how to communicate effectively will help to promote creating smoothly working project teams. Communication skills are important as well as learning patients’ needs and demands. Those people who know how to use language and how to communicate effectively have a crucial advantage over others.

It goes without saying that leaders who can’t communicate effective are unable to lead for a long time. As it is mentioned, “they may spend limitless amounts of time and energy developing other skills, such as organizational strategies, time management, public speaking, and long-term planning, but taking the time to develop the skill of listening is one of the effective leader’s best communication strategies”. (Pulce 2003) If a person is willing to become effective leader, he should paid careful attention to communication skills.

There are lots of techniques which can be used to create an effective communication process. Firstly, regular meetings are important in making employees informed about current changes and issues. Secondly, employee newsletters assist in informing employees about activities of general interest.

Thirdly, employee policies and handbooks help to keep employees informed about main rules, philosophies and procedures of organization. Finally, other available techniques are hotlines and suggestions boxes. It goes without saying that effective communication isn’t limited only to speaking.
