The was the fact that Russia was a country in reverse both politically and socially. Russian citizens were fed-up with the autocratic government that ruled over them, and the people wanted change. Today in Russia, a high number of super-rich individuals have emerged since the 1990s. The super-rich class has maintained close ties with the political elite over the years. The political elite being the ones in control of the country have turned out to be puppets of the super-rich oligarchs who desire to have control over the entire middle class. “The oligarchs still have a disproportionate influence on Russia’s political affairs, while the middle class feels their voice isn’t being heard at the political level,” (Rahr) the author claimed. The desire for power is fueled by the need to protect their business ventures and to keep their circle small. The long-sidelined middle class had also increased rapidly over the past decade with Russia experiencing relative stability.

The middle-class demand that the ruling oligarchs and political elite to be more responsive to their needs. The middle-class struggles for political changes but hindrance by the political elite who are puppets of the Ultra-rich is their biggest challenge. This struggle has mutated to civil action where the middle class has demonstrated on the streets in protest. To do away with poverty and suffering socialism may be the solution. Socialism however turns private property into public wealth and kills individualism & competition and promotes co-operation restoring the earth to its original healthy environment (Wilde). A man or woman not languishing in poverty is at peace with himself or herself and the environment. Socialism in Europe is mainly trying to break the power of capitalists. As for the case of Germany which is a capitalist country the country’s economic resource allocation is according to the need of maximizing capital accumulation. Wladek Flakin claims “a socialist program cannot be carried out by the existing state, no matter what party is in government.”

Since no government can support socialism as it goes against the agenda of its existence which is to protect the capitalist’s wealth. In many European countries, many social-political parties do not succeed since pro-capitalist bureaucrats are the most corrupt. Moving on, there is an inextricable link between racism in an economic and political system. Economics and politics are reliant upon racial prejudice as both for a source of profiteering, but more notably as a means to separate and rule. Racial discrimination, Class struggle still occurs in societies around the world today. Discrimination includes individual attitudes and systems of policies that are established to benefit the upper class only.

Racial discrimination, class struggle go hand in hand. Theodor Herzl’s in his 1896 writing, “The Jewish State” lays out the Jews grave struggle of persecution. Wherever Jews lived in perceptible numbers they always felt persecuted and hated. Jewish people were considered as the most despicable among the poverty-stricken for many years for the poor did not approve of Jewish prosperity. Their inequality before the law was absolute, as filling high positions privately and militarily was not allowed. Any purchases from Jewish owned establishments was greatly opposed and frowned upon in an effort to drive Jews out of business. The Jewish people have faced unprecedented oppression around the world, from public attacks, and assaults on the pulpit. In this case, the Jewish people often suffered from reverse classism and racial discrimination because of their monetary wealth.

Although the Jewish emancipation did occur, it happened too late. Herzl asked, “can we wait in pious resignation till the princes and peoples of this earth are more mercifully disposed towards us?” (Herzl) and the impatience to do so hatches the plan to create a Jewish state. He claimed that if it were possible to grant them a large piece of land large worthy to be a state, they would manage to move there at their expense and pleasure. The Establishment of a Jewish state was the only way the Jews could escape the constant classism, hatred and persecution by anti-Semites had towards them.

In relation to race and class struggle, in 1908 India was yearning for self-rule the Indian National Congress had managed to bring people together. All Indians were impatient to attain Swaraj which translates to Indian home rule, the first way to achieve self-rule was to chase away the English whom were incredibly wealthy. Indians felt they were in a state of slavery where all their money disappears into the pockets of the English (Gandhi). In actuality, Gandhi had no protest to class struggle, but with British colonial rule which India was under Gandhi did not approve of such an issue of class warfare and struggle, he was more worried of national struggle (Rathore). Also, Indian citizens had another issue of class struggle, their oppressors. British being far more affluent than the Indian’s there was a class and racial divide concerning Brits and Indians, there was a blatant disregard for the Indian people’s feelings and welfare. Ultimately, the Eastern Indians struggled to hoist their flag and have their army but maintained a secular and democratic government in the end. Class struggle and racial discrimination is by far prevalent in India today.
