Before beginning my topic allow me to introduce the two very terms which are included in the discussion topic – youth and nation building The term: “Youth” does not represent a person aged between 14 and 24 ; Rather it refers to the transition from the dependence of childhood to independence of adulthood and awareness of it’s interdependence as members of a community. Youth is a more fluid category than a fixed age-group.

So what role youth plays in nation building?
Answer is evident by the fact that If this is information era, then Youth is ‘digital generation’ . The hunger, desire, motivation, determination, and high energy of the youth can and should be utilized to the fullest so that social, economical, and technological frontiers of a nation can be strengthened.

Having said that, it is also essential to note that young people must also believe in themselves; They should realize that they are big asset both individually and collectively to national development if they work hard and stay focused.

Additionally, Youth are NOT ONLY the leaders of tomorrow, BUT ALSO the partners of today. They must be given the opportunity to effectively participate in decision-making processes. Thus, Infusing more youths on development wagon becomes the responsibility of those in authority.

In conclusion, the vision of our country lies in the hands of our youths. The role of the youth in the nation building is crucial. They have the ability to create an identity for themselves and move the nation forward. However, they will not be able to do this without the support of their government and society. So the youths can make their life and nation flourish and shine in success.

The vision of our country lies in the hands of our youths. They are filled with tremendous and towering ambitions. It will be a great wastage of human resources if these youths are not given an opportunity to exercise their talent. This beautiful land needs these youths in order for our soil to become a brighter one.

The primary role of young people is to get a good education in order to become better citizens of tomorrow. They need to learn skills to do the job that their country’s economy needs. They also need to know how to read, write, think, understand, analyse, and discuss the issues their country faces. The entire success of the nation depends on the youths. However, in order for continuous success to take place; it is the Government’s responsibility to provide the youth with proper facilities for, getting equipped with the knowledge of the modern era. Youth is the spring of life. It is the age of discovery and dreams. They have the power to transform the nation into a better place. They also have the ability to lead their fellow citizens into the right direction. Youths are fighters. They fight for an identity in society, equality, the homeless, bullying, unemployment, exploitation, poverty and other problems which the world faces today. All of them hopes for a world full of opportunities, so great minds can conquer them and become better individuals.

They need good morals and values to handle conflicts in a positive way. We have aspiring doctors, entrepreneurs, scientists, and who knows; maybe the next president. Illiteracy is a major around the world. About ninety percent of the people who reside in villages are illiterate. The reason is their utter ignorance and lack of initiative to lead them in the right direction. Someone has to pull them up. Here also, the young people can be of immense help. The role of the youth is the most important in today’s time. They have underplayed themselves in the field of the politics. Youth are strong forces in social movements. Youths are problem solvers. Our nations need them to resolve most of our problems. The nation is facing a lot of problems, and I believe that the youths are capable of solving them. They just need to be given a chance to prove themselves. Youths have the power to unite individuals in the six ethnic groups.

Racism is an ongoing issue around the world. Individuals are fighting against each other because of the complexion of their skin and the texture of their hair. Religion is another issue, the youths can convince their fellow man to live in peace and love. All of us are one and we should not allow these little differences to push us away from each other. There also a lot of crime taking place. Women are being killed by their abusive husbands. Person’s homes, businesses, are being broken into. All of this crime and violence needs to stop. The youth once more has the ability to bring about a change in their country. Youths seems to have the ability to face any challenges and problems. They have a positive influence on their fellow young people. They are able to teach them the positive things in life. The ones whom are destroying their future, they tend to listen to their fellow youths. They will make them understand the importance of a good education. The wise youths that we have out there should be taken into consideration.

Some of them, though educated are unemployed. They should be given an opportunity to expose their intelligence to the world and make themselves into someone. Some organisations and other firm should assist the youths; so they can make our land a great and educated one. They will make a huge difference in society and the entire world. The youths are our life and nation. They will make our country proud. The country will be recognized. The youths just need the support from their fellow citizens and they will perform their duties. In conclusion, the role of the youth in the nation building is crucial. They are problem solvers, have a positive influence on other young people and the nation, and are extremely ambitious. This is one of the reasons for the backwardness of Pakistan. Hence the youth lacks proper patronage. Developed countries are totally aware of the worth of their youth. They consider their youth as an asset. Most importantly, these countries cater to the needs of their youth and provide them education, employment, and recreational activities such as a healthy and competitive environment to prepare the youth to lead the country through thick and thin. If youth is not in the right direction and is unconcerned about the future of the nation, it will become a burden for the nation and will not play any productive role.

The youth hopes for a world free of poverty, unemployment, inequality and exploitation of man by man. They want a world free of discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, language and gender.

The countries where the youth pay their proper contributions towards their nation are more developed. The entire success of a nation depends on the youth. It is the duty of the government to provide the youth with ample opportunities to play their role in an effective manner. Parents also have a major responsibility to fulfil. They must induce patriotic feelings in their young ones. The youth with patriotism would lead the nation to the front.

Youth have following role and responsibilities towards their nation:

• They must get proper and complete education.
• Take part in welfare activities.
• Spread awareness and education among the masses about their rights and responsibilities.
• Help other youths in building confidence and pursuing the field of interest.
• Guide newcomers in every field along the right lines.

• Promote a fair image of the country to the world.
• Serve the country with their skills and talent in various fields.
• To nip
in the bud all the evils that are polluting our society.
• To reinvigorate the culture, trend and traditions of the society
. • Help the government in the implementation of policies.

• Find a way to play a vital role in the elimination of terrorism. • The young people are full of vibrant ideas. Their ideas can show the country a new path towards prosperity. • Young people have energy to try out things and the patience to learn from mistakes. Giving them opportunities to plan, to decide and to work prepares them to face harsher realities in life. • Young participation is important because youth are the country’s power. Youth recognize problems and can solve them. Youth are strong force in social movements.

To conclude, the youth of today can do a marvellous job for the nation. With all the modern means of this computer age, where everything seems to be possible, why can’t the youth override the things done by the people in the past? We always consider the heroes of the past to be the evergreen characters. But today the youth with the proper use of the modern facilities should be evergreen characters for the times to come

Importance of Indian youth in nation building

As our country is inching towards becoming a developed nation which is not a dream that is far off in many aspects, we need to look at the important aspects or the process that will lead us to that destination. This achievement will also be mirroring the importance of youth in nation building as it is the youth which is spearheading the development process in India. While the developmental agenda has been laid before us by our visionary leadership in the past with a clear objective of making our nation more advanced in all the fields. Unfortunately, we are still dealing with the basic developmental issues that are to do with the fundamental rights of our people. We need to work at a faster pace to catch up with our global competition and surge ahead in terms of achieving the growth and development. What we have achieved is not precisely growth but limited achievements in certain fields like IT and emerging technologies. When the major sections of our brotherhood are left behind, we cannot surge ahead with emerging technologies as a priority. There has to be a balancing act which is a great responsibility for our youth of the present generation. We may end up in a very shallow state of affairs instead of becoming the world’s super power which is barely at hand. Our objectives have to be redefined and are to be brought into alignment with the growing global trends and practices. After making a mockery of democracy for decades, we are now realizing the importance of staying young and relevant in the global scenario. Our youth has to adapt to a strategy that covers the most pressing challenges while talking about growth and development.

Inclusive growth – If we cannot achieve an inclusive growth that involves majority and minority sections of the society, we are simply fighting the vacuum instead of growing as a nation. If there are only certain sections of the society that are growing, there is no relevance to our independence. There can never be an impression that our people consider themselves ruled and enslaved by the establishment. We should address mind sets that are framed towards negativity because of the experience of being left behind.

Literacy in India – Let there be no illiteracy if there has to be the development. There is a very interesting observation that is also a reality that the illiterate societies are eager to learn and be educated whereas the government is not taking enough measures to reach out. Our young leadership should bridge this gap as well. The importance of youth in nation building is more evident through these aspects of public interest.

Rural empowerment – Urban development in all can never result in our country becoming a developed nation. Our primary objective of inclusive growth can be achieved through rural empowerment as and when we achieve such development, we are ready to challenge the global scenario in our favour.

The youth in nation building should take an entirely different route through inclusive growth by focusing the matters that are of importance to our country. We should rather respond to the challenges with a positive mindset to find constructive solutions.

There are many ways that youth can contribute to national development. They can do so by working hard in any field they are involved in, be it the teaching, mechanic, or farming field.

Working for one’s nation with total devotion and commitment is an obligation for every citizen thus the need to have orientation events for our youth to teach them what national service is all about.

However, to ensure the active participation of young people in national development, they need to be supported and encouraged by the government, the private sector, the civil society and their parents.

One does not need to belabour the point that there are many young people who if given the required support can contribute meaningfully to national development. But bringing such youths onboard the development wagon becomes the responsibility of those in authority.

Having said that, it is also essential to note that young people must also believe in themselves; that they can become a big asset both individually and collectively to national development if they work hard.

The continued over-dependency phenomenon cannot take our youth anywhere, nor can it help them to meaningfully contribute to national development as expected.

It is true that today’s youth are facing many challenges, such as HIV/AIDS, unemployment and drug abuse, but there also exist opportunities to gradually overcome some of these challenges.

In a situation where opportunities are limited – like nowadays – youth seeking jobs must avoid the habit of pick-and-choose; instead they should learn to take what is available till they get what they want.

This country needs more qualified engineers, plumbers, tailors, economists and journalists, etc to lead us to our developmental aspirations.

However, to help our youth get to where they want and enable them become effective contributors to nation-building all hands must be on deck in achieving this objective, as the youth need support and motivation.

Also to enhance the participation of youth in national development, they must be given the opportunity to effectively participate in decision-making processes, especially on issues affecting their lives.

Youth always has been the key to any of the activities in the world be it war, politics, construction works; you name it and youth has , is and will have been involved, there’s no 2 way about it. The hunger, desire, motivation, determination and high energy of the youth can make all the difference in either destroying or building a nation. Proper guidance and direction can bring the youth in forefront of national development. The young have passions, dreams and hopes. They have bubbling enthusiasm which has to be regulated and utilized in right way. This can surely ensure rapid national development. After all, all the people can only exercise their full potential when they are young and energetic. Youth is that period in which revolutionary thoughts spring to mind and these thoughts shape the world we live in. Bill Gates the founder of Micro Soft is a living example. He had a revolutionary thought and he exercised thought and look, how he has changed the world today.

There are a lot of other revolutionary youth leaders around the world who have changed the world towards the development. Youth through organizing for a specific aim and positive direction can contribute more towards the national development.
