The rain. The hurricane. That’s where it all began. The rain was so heavy that the whole city was flooded. Not just “get your shoes wet” flooded, no, more like Noah’s Ark flooded. And this right here litterally poured fear on all walks of life. For the Lockness Swimming Chair Monster has been waiting centuries for humans would be held captive by its natural habitat. As dusk began to set it, the Lockness Swimming Chair monster, or LSCM for short, began its hunt. Its first victim, a 7 year old girl, desperetly tried to swim away but would never make it back home. It was tragic to witness. Its first taste of blood and now it craved more. As the city saw no hope, the mortality rate continued to rise. Who was to save them? Well.. That would be me. My name is Lt. Jackson, an ex Navy soldier retired from the frontline. I was 7 months in, but any soldier knows you can never stay comfortable. I’m currently in hiding inside the attic of an half submerged house. I’ve spent 12 days in here with dry Ramen Noodles as my only food source.

My time has been utilized to making any type of weapons to possibly destroy this beast. Luckily, my prayers has always been answered for whoever owned this house must’ve have done military duty themselves. An out dated but operational M-16 was acommpanied by a large supply of ammo. Otherwise impossible to have if it was an ordinary pedestrian, there was a supply of grenades, flash bombs, and remote-operated C4 almost 5 years old. I set some C4 around the attic door and window for protection. Its 6p.m now and its now dusk. LSCM takes its routine route through the city finding victims to devour. I grab the M-16, 2 flash bombs, and a granade and feetle positioned myself in the corner farthest away from the window. Silence but the quiet moving waters fill the room. All of sudden I feel a soft thud. Maybe it was just deebri hitting the house again. It grows silent again. BOOM! The impact violently shook the whole house, knocking me over. I got back up and raise my gun. In such a compact attic theres not much room you could move so I was definitly considered trapped. BOOM! This time from directly below. Its in the house. I opened the attic door and threw a flash bomb hoping to startle LSCM and scare it away. That moment I caught my first glimpse of the beast and quickly shut the door.

As it descended in the water I hear a loud bang and silence grew again. It worked. At the same moment I drew a breath of relief, the attic door was catapulted upward and LSCM climbed in. Immediately frightened I began to shoot desperatly at the beast, but it was to no avail. It began to charge towards me with great momentum. I immeditaly took my gun and swung just as the LSCM came 2 inches to my face. The impact through him acrossthe attic towards the window. The C4! I quickly grab the remote and activated the first bomb. BOOM! LSCM is then thrown across the attic opposite of me. But to my amazement, LSCM rose not phased my the explosion. In fact, it was on its way back to attack me. My life is over! I close my eyes and wait for more death.. Suddenly, I hear the sound of choking. I open one eye to see LSCM gasping for what seemed to be air. It quickly turned around and made its way to the attic door where water was below. Splash! The beast was now gone and I was now tired. Not only do I feel triumphant in not dying, but I also finding out its weakness.

The next morning I wake up to a excrutiatingly painful backache. But I thank God because I could’ve been dead. I make my gourmet 5-star dry ramen noodle breakfast before preparing my plan. I look threw the window to see the waters stained with blood. I cringe at the thought of these families who’s last names won’t continue generations, the widows with their chirldren, that 7 year old girl. Now I’m angry and determined to destroy the LSCM and send it down the pits of HELL. My plan is finally complete and ready to be executed the next day. I go to sleep, M-16 in hand, praying I survive another night. The next morning I skip breakfast as I am too anxious to finally kill this terrorizing monster once and for all. I place the C4 and grenades in their places. We’re about to have a pyro show. I leave the house and swim to a distance where I can begin the plan. Dusk arrives and I distinctively hear the deep growl of the LSCM. I hear screams in the near distance and prepare my self for it is close. I look over the horizon to see the LSCM in the distance. Its time.

I begin frantically waving my arms and yelling in order to get the attention of the LSCM. In the back of my mind I think theirs always the possiblility of this plan not working but then again failure isnt an option. Im a soldier and soldiers never quit. The LSCM sees me and immediatley seeks satisfaction of its hunger. As it charges toward me, I take a deep breath and swim underwater and swim swiftly towards the front door of the house. The LSCM is a couple hundred feet away from me but its moving fast. I race up to the attic door where I anticipate the LSCM to follow me. I grab the handle to push threw but it wouldn’t budge. I used all my strength to no avail and that’s when I relized that I set the rest of C4 right on top of the door.

I couldn’t even be mad at myself because the LSCM just charged threw the house and headed right for me. With two seconds to spare, I strategically guided his momentum towards the door where he easily broke through. Now he’s out of the water I thought. I then swam out of the house and towards surface to see the LSCM looking around for me through the window. At the same moment we made eye contact, I pushed the button to ignite the C4 placed all around the roof of the attic. The LSCM yelled as deebri fell on top of it trapping it from motion. I wiggled and jolted trying to free itself but nothing worked. The oxygen in the air began to poison it as it struggled. I watched it gasp till it accepted its death and the once frantic movement became still. I killed it. The city is saved.
