On June 15th, 2014 the operation Zarb-e Azb was launched by the Pakistan Armed Forces and since then Pakistan is in a state of war against the militants in Northern Waziristan. This fact is something that we often forget when we are busy in our everyday activities. We forget that somewhere along the borders of North Waziristan the calmness present in our homes is nonexistent. Somewhere the soldiers are marching and the guns are firing. The army is hard at work to free us from the threat that these terrorist pose to our nation. Death surrounds these soldiers and they still march on. The duty that they are given, the burden they bare, is greater than one we can ever comprehend. We shouldn’t forget this fact. In these perilous times we need to support them and show everyone in the world how we are standing by their side.

The international world has always had their doubts about Muslims that whether they stand for peace or are they religious fanatics in favor of war. The deformed definition of “Jihad” that is famous among the international world thanks to the Taliban is damaging. To undo this damage we need to show our peaceful side, the side that supports peace in our country. This war may be the most important to deliver us with this opportunity, it shows how the people of our country have had enough with terrorism and the killings of the innocent. It shows our value for freedom and human rights and how we openly oppose those who threaten our nation’s harmony. This war also gives a chance to show our sense of equality among the provinces. It will help show how the people of North Waziristan are valued among us. Hence the IDPs (Internally displaced persons) seek our attention now, they are the way through which we can show our love for these people.
It is evident that we do not despise the innocent people of Northern Waziristan just only those hateful militants that have taken refuge there. Let’s all remember that the people from fata and North Waziristan are our people too and help them in this time of need. Surely they are ours as are the people from the rest of Pakistan. Let’s show the world that the people of Sindh, Baluchistan, Khyber- Pakhtoon- Kha and Punjab are all equal to us. That the geographic background of a person does not matter to us and that we still remember the saying of Quaid-e-Azam and hold it dear to our heart.“We are now all Pakistanis–not Baluchis, Pathans, Sindhis, Bengalis, Punjabis and so on–and as Pakistanis we must feet behave and act, and we should be proud to be known as Pakistanis and nothing else. “
