With time is going on, people are trying to choose the best option for their living. When the population rise became in great members, vertical cities has been the best alternative for people. Having construction of hyperstructures that capacitates large quantities of population is the defination of some kind for vertical cities. As Abel explains, cities are anticipated to have eighty per cent of the world’s population approximately nine billion people in 2050 (2006). Of all the benefits of living in vertical architectures, being environmentally friendly and having less energy consumption seem to stand out.

Being environmentally friendly seems to be the one of the primary benefits of living in vertical architecture. With urbanization many green areas are destroyed under new constructions; however, vertical cities offer more spaces for green areas. Moreover, there is a new plan called ‘skyrise’ greening concept that constructs green areas on the rooftops of the buildings. Nouhuys stated that in Europe 75 per cent of people live in cities with an expectation of 80 per cent by 2020. Europe’s urban areas are responsible for most of greenhouse gasses.

Upgrading cities with vertical cities of ultra-high rise building and defining new routes for environmentally friendly urban development are near (2005). Adding to that, in vertical cities transportation will be lesser because of the working and living places nearness. These cities are suitable for public transportation that reducing the need for car use. Consequently, it reduces the waste of time and air pollution.

Secondly, consumpting lesser energy in all areas is another benefit of living in vertical architecture. Mitcheson-Low indicated that around 12,000 people is living in a vertical structure named Nakheel Tower. For instance, sea water is used by the central cooling plant to supply cooling towers. That sea water saves about 8,000,000 litres of fresh water per year which is buildings’ dependency. Furthermore, Sreejith asserted that vertical cities have %75 reduction in energy consumption against horizontal cities.

Besides, all the energy that will be demanded will be supplied by solar and wind power ‘farms’ (n. d. ). With this benefits climate change is diminished around different kinds of people. In conclusion, the benefits of vertical cities are very significant for a comfortable and healthier life. The most remarkable ones: being environmentally friendly and having less energy consumption. These are very effective on making people life’s better. Everybody should be informed concerning this architectural designs that creates new benefits for human life.
