Lady Macbeth is far more evil than the witches“Lady Macbeth is far more evil than the witches. Do you agree?

* Lady Macbeth plants the idea of murder in Macbeth’s head; however the witches only tell Macbeth the prophecies. * In the end, the witches are against Macbeth’s murders by tricking him into thinking that he is unbeatable meaning justice would be served – however Lady Macbeth does not try to serve justice. * Lady Macbeth is the reason of his corruption however in the end it is completely his choice whether he is to commit a murder or not.

Lady Macbeth is far more evil than the witches; however Macbeth is more than just a dagger in her hand. Reasons for this statement are that the witches simply tell Macbeth the prophecies however Lady Macbeth plants the idea of murder in Macbeths head, in the end the witches are against Macbeths murders by tricking him into thinking that he is unbeatable to serve justice yet Lady Macbeth does not try to serve justice, and Lady Macbeth is the reason of Macbeths corruption however is was completely his choice whether he was to commit a murder and continue the act. Lady Macbeth is far more evil than the witches themselves, as in the beginning the witches only inform Macbeth that he would be Thane of Cawdor, and then eventually king of Ireland, however they took no part in telling him how it would happen or if he had to take action himself to fulfil this prophecy. However, it was Lady Macbeth who had planted the idea of evil into his mind and told him he had to murder the king in order to make this prophecy true. If it were not for Lady Macbeth to plant this evil and brutal thought into Macbeth’s mind, the murders may have not occurred and evil could have not taken place the way it did.

Furthermore, this meaning that the witches may have in fact intended no evil to take place due to this prophecy, but it was because of Lady Macbeth’s evil thoughts that Macbeth’s evil actions had happened. Another reason as to why Lady Macbeth is far more evil than the witches is that towards the end when Macbeth comes back to the witches for more prophecies, the witches know that Macbeth is serving wrong due to his previous prophecy, they decide to trick him and tell him that he is unbeatable, specifically that no man of woman born can beat him. The witches, knowing that he would understand this term incorrectly, did this in order to make Macbeth finally become beaten in combat so the rest of Ireland will be at peace again. The motive behind this seems somewhat just full, as Lady Macbeth had no intention of trying to somehow stop or convince Macbeth that his murders have become out of hand. This making it fair to say that the witches intentions are actually less evil than what Lady Macbeth’s intentions were. Macbeth is in fact more than a just a dagger in Lady Macbeths hand.

In the beginning, Lady Macbeth does influence and plant the idea of murder into Macbeth’s head. She taunts him and plays on his manhood which forces him to commit the evil crime of murder to achieve his ambition to be king. However, as time progresses, Lady Macbeth begins to feel ashamed of the crime she had helped commit and Macbeth continues to commit the crimes by himself without shame and without telling his wife, Lady Macbeth. Though Lady Macbeth may have planted the idea of murder into Macbeth’s head, Lady Macbeth has intended to do no more harm and murder than what Macbeth had turned out to commit. In saying this, it was actually Macbeth who had set out his own plans of murder in the end and Lady Macbeth had nothing to do with it, meaning Macbeth was in control of his own brutal killings and was not simply a ‘dagger in Lady Macbeth’s hand’. In conclusion to this, we can say that it was in fact Macbeth’s fault of the brutal murders and he was not just a dagger in Lady Macbeths hand, and that Lady Macbeth was far more evil than the witches have may appeared for not only planting the ideas in Macbeth’s head, but also not trying to do anything to stop these evil murders.
