A. Statement of the Problem
How did we define propositions last meeting? Will you define it for  us Grace?We defined propositions last meeting as an expression in words of an act of judgment. You have a sharp memory, Grace Proposition are an expression in words of an act of judgment.

B. Statement of Generalization
For today we are going to talk about  two classes of proposition. These are Proposition of fact and Proposition  of policy.

Have you heard of these?No yet Sir Okay. Proposition of fact is one that is concerned with the truth  or falsity of an act of judgment.
It aims at belief. It settles the question: “Is this assertion true?”
While, Proposition of policy is one that is concerned with the wisdom or unwisdom, the expediency or  inexpediency, of a course of action.
It aims at action. It answers the  questions: “Should it be done?” “Should this course of action be followed?”

C. Inference
Look at this example on the board.
Please read the first example, Jenny.“Resolved, That elective city mayors are more efficient than appointive ones.” Thank you, Jenny.

That is an example of the Proposition of fact.

D. Verification
Let us try to analyze two other examples showing this class of proposition.

Proposition of fact.
