Question: If Jose Rizal is not the national hero, who do you think has the attributes of a true national hero?

Although the declaration of the Philippines’ national hero wasn’t held during Marcos’ Regime, I still believe that Aquino has the attributes of being our national hero besides Jose Rizal. I know that many had already proved their patriotism to our country but for me, Aquino is the most diverse of all. He had incredibly shown acts of extraordinary sacrifices to the country. He is a true icon that serves as an inspiration to our fellow Filipinos.

Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino. Sr. (November 27, 1932 – August 21, 1983) is known as the gallant and dauntless senator who had saved us from the. As I have researched on the life of Ninoy, I have known his works, educational and family background, achievements, his ups and downs, how he’d faced troubles, and how he had intelligently fought against Marcos. Aquino was born into one of the Philippines’ prominent oligarchic clans, no wonder he was already a correspondent in his teenage years. He was the nation’s youngest senator. His flamboyant rhetoric made him a threat to Marcos as Marcos labeled him as a “congenital liar” to the public.
