Getting Started:

o Make a reference note for contacting me at my Albany Tech e-mail address [email protected] and at [email protected]. Please put both e-mail addresses on your correspondence(s). o An intranet café discussion area is located in the classroom for any questions or concerns that you would like to share with the class. o In accordance with ATC, I do not accept any class work through e-mail. All work is to be submitted in the Angel classroom. If you have any problems navigating the class room please contact the help desk at 430-3559 or 430-3497. On campus, the helpdesk is in bldg A, Room 108B Prosperity Hall. o After confirming the class, read the class plan and syllabus (located in the confirm attendance folder). Review the faculty expectations and tips for online learners.

If you have any questions, please post them in the Intranet Café discussion area. Other students may have the same questions. o Print out the class plan, so you have instructions for each week’s assignments. o All assignments are due by Sunday 11:55 p.m. of the last week. I will close out the weeks work immediately following the due date. If you have problems, contact me before the end of the two week period. o I will not accept students attempting to complete the entire course in the last week or two of the course. This serves as an injustice to you and what you are here for. o Please work on the logistics article throughout the Semester. Article is due Aug 8th. Grading – Assignments 90%

WEEK 1 May 28 – June 2
o Read the ALDI case study. Respond to the four questions below. Your responses should be a minimum of ten overall sentences in APA format. 1. What is lean production?
2. List the efficiency concepts that underpin lead production. 3. Explain why having a multi-skilled workforce helps increase Aldi’s
efficiency. 4. Analyze why lean production is particularly important for Aldi. o Complete the Wi-Fi Assignment.

WEEK 2 (June 3 – June 9)
o Read the Mary Kay Case Study. Respond to the four questions at the end of the study. Your responses should be a minimum of ten overall sentences in APA format.

WEEK 3 (June 10 – June 16)
o Read the Campus Foods Case Study. Respond to the six questions at the end of the study. Your responses should be a minimum of ten overall sentences in APA format.

WEEK 4 (June 17 – June 23)
o Read the FedEx Case Study. Prepare a ten sentence summary discussing how FedEx has used and benefited from SCM. Submit your assignment in the FedEx dropbox. o Complete the Value Chain Assignment.

WEEK 5
o Read the YouTube Case Study. Respond to the questions at the end of the study. Your responses should be a minimum of ten overall sentences in APA format.

WEEK 6 (July 1 – July 7)
Research Starbucks. Write a paper discussing the following:
1. Identify the existing supply chain management process in Starbucks. 2. Describe the flow materials, the organizations functions and the customers it serves. 3. Compare and contrast these practices with other supply chain practices, both domestic and global. 4. Recommends changes base upon research and cost benefits analysis. o Complete the Supply Chain Lifecycle assignment.

WEEK 7 (July 8 – July 14)
o Read the Dell Case Study for International SCM. Write a ten sentence synopses using APA format.

WEEK 8 (July 15 – July 21)
o Read the Whirlpool Case Study. Respond to the 3 questions at the end of the study. Your responses should be a minimum of ten overall sentences in APA format.

WEEK 9 (July 22 – July 28)
o Read the Kellogg’s case study. Respond to the four questions at the end of the study. Your responses should be a minimum of ten overall sentences in APA format.

WEEK 10 (July 29 – Aug 8)
o Research a company that uses just in time (JIT) and/or Lean Six Sigma. Write a ten sentence synopsis about the company and how it has been impacted by the usage of JIT and/or Lean Six Sigma. If you use a specific website, please reference it. o Submit your logistics article.
