It was quite difficult and tiring, but it was all worth it because I knew that my simple action will help many children. Seeing those children in the orphanage with a big smile on their face gave me a great feeling. NSTP is where a person will be exposed to the lifestyles of other people, which also tends to make us students to be more aware of the needs of the less fortunate. NSTP taught me to give more than I receive just like in our own way, we can make these children can have smiles in their faces. I’ve realized that even the smallest things, we can make these children happy.
Doing community service, it helps us to exposed to the lifestyle of other people. This was a huge step into becoming more closely involved with the surroundings. It was really a tiring job but we’ve enjoyed and learned a lot. NSTP served as an eye opener to the students, as we become aware of the current situation of our country–poverty. I realized that not all children in the orphanage are those adopted, some of them have temporarily left their parents and work abroad for the future of children. I’m lucky because I have parents that love me, and they sacrificed just to give me enough education and good life.
