Order NowNAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement) has been established for 17 years. While this may seem like a good things for all three countries, some have benefited more than others. Since NAFTA has occurred, the majority of Mexico has benefited greatly, unlike Canada, who has suffered because of these three things: price of objects, economy, and loss of jobs.
Since NAFTA has been initiated, the price of objects has gone up in Mexico unlike in Canada the price has gone down. In Mexico, the price of some abundant resources (metals) went up. Unlike other abundant resources (food) is less money now because America grows it also so we don’t need it from Mexico. In Canada, the price of objects go down but the economy gets worse due to the government not getting as much money as they should, which would lead to higher taxes, making the citizens irate.
The economy since NAFTA has been established has been affected greatly in an excellent and meager way. In Mexico, the economy has rose greatly because so many factories from America or Canada are moving to Mexico. In Canada the economy went down because many if not all the workers from Canada lost their jobs, but they have more money because they don’t have to pay the workers as much money as they did before.
Ultimately, the loss of jobs were drastic. In Mexico, the loss of jobs went down extremely because a lot of the factories from Canada and the U.S. moved down there because it’s cheaper. In Canada, the loss of jobs went severely up because all the factories moved down to Mexico leaving a lot of un-employed workers.
North America has benefited and suffered from NAFTA in three major ways: price of objects, the economy, and the loss of jobs. While all three countries have benefited and suffered, without it, our trade system would be very diverse compared to today.
