1. You are the network administrator for a new company that has 10 users and plans to add five more users within a year. The files need to be accessed by all 10 users and each user must have different security rights. What kind of network would you install and how would the pieces and components of this network relate to each other? Define each component. Client/server network would be my choice because it can handle many people at one time on a network. It also gives the company room to add more users in the future besides the five within a year. My choice of component would be a wireless hub and wireless cards (if not installed already) to all the computers. This will free up cluttered wired running through the business.
2. You are the network administrator for a company that has a peer-to-peer network. How would the pieces and components of this network relate to each other? Define all of the components of this type of network. A peer-to-peer network does not have a dedicated server but all the computers in the network are equal. Depending on the level of restrictions set by each user (What can be shared and not shared in the network), this gives their computer the ability to send and receive services to one another.
3. You are the administrator of a client-server environment. What kind of network would you install and how would the pieces and components of this network relate to each other? Define each component of a typical client-server environment. I would install wireless hubs in a client-server environment. I would use a wireless router with an extended range depending on how many computers there will be in the network. I could also install multiple routers throughout the building.
