Colors are explained as a kind of an electromagnetic phenomenon. These colors are created through the light reflection that tends to be flashed on a certain thing that our eyes see.
According to the scientist named Young, inside our eyes is a tri-color system which allows us to receive and perceive color information. The theory of young tends to explain that there are three certain three different cones that enable’s the eye to interact with the three specific parts of the object that has been visualized (ThinkQuest, 2003)
The three areas specified by Young is said to be the colors green, blue, and red. Young also explained that the cones are said to be overlapping that somehow creates another color or another varieties of color (ThinkQuest, 2003)
Young explained in his theory that the overlapping of these said three specific colors is named as the method of additive color production(ThinkQuest, 2003). As explained how colors are being produced, this theory is said to be based definitely on fact.
Young also explained that if a two of these certain colors mixed up and appeared as color white, then the two colors are said to be complimentary. In this process, the scientist said the color green compliments the color of magenta while red color compliments cyan and blue compliments yellow (ThinkQuest, 2003).
It is said and discussed in Young’s theory that this process is also the one responsible for people to visualize variety of colors instead of visualize only those that appears in front of them (ThinkQuest, 2003).
