There are many important events that took place throughout Jesus’s life which have been presented to us in the New Testament, mainly in The Gospels. All of Jesus’ movements were important but the most important events were the birth of Jesus, John the Baptist baptising Jesus and Jesus being tempted by the devil, the many miracles performed by Jesus, Jesus’s teachings, The last Supper, Jesus’s suffering, His death, His resurrection, Jesus ascending into Heaven. List and briefly describe the main events of Jesus’ life. These events are to be an exemplary for us humans.

The first important event in Jesus’ life in the New Testament took place in Luke 2:7. This is the birth of Jesus Christ. In Luke 1: 26-38, Mary was told by the angel Gabriel that she would conceive Jesus, the savior that would set God’s people free from their sins, as a virgin and give birth to him in Bethlehem. She did give birth to him in Bethlehem in a stable because there was no room at the inn. This event was so huge because Jesus would really changed the course of everyone’s lives and and would give all of us a chance at forgiveness and mercy. The next big event in Jesus’ life was when John the Baptist baptised Jesus and how Jesus was then tempted by Satan. In Matthew 2, Mark 1 and Luke 3, John the Baptist baptises Jesus Christ in the Jordan River. This meant that Jesus was confessing that he was a sinner and that this baptism was dedicated to and approved by God. After this huge event, Jesus was then tested and tried by Satan who tempted him in the wilderness for 40 days. In the course of Jesus’s life, he performed many miracles such as making the blind see, healing the sick, making the dead come to life, walking on water and Jesus turning water into wine. All of these miracles, along with many more, were an extremely monumental part of Jesus’s life. These miracles show the power that he held and how he gave all of the credit back to God. The miracles gave all of God’s people a snippet of who God is and who Jesus is through God. After Jesus was baptised, he went on to declare his ministry for the Lord through his teachings. He was made a new man and preached to his disciples about how to pray and told them many parables that are still used today to change lives.

The next event that took place was the Last Supper in Matthew 26:1-29, Mark 14:12-25 and Luke 22:7-20. The Last Supper was the last meeting that Jesus had with his disciples the day before he died on the cross. In this meeting, he spoke being the only way to God. He also mentions that Judas will be the one to betray him. Because of the Last Supper, we take Communion in remembrance of this day and Jesus shedding his blood for us. After this, we watch Jesus suffering because of the people that hate him and all that he stands for through God. Jesus suffered from being verbally persecuted physically beaten. He was arrested and nailed on the cross. Jesus’s death is the next huge event in his life. Jesus died on the cross to further his ministry for God on earth. Jesus came to earth to die for our sins and this is where it all takes place. After this was was when he resurrected and came back to life. On the third day of being in the tomb, he rose from the dead to show how powerful God truly was. The last big event of Jesus’s life was the ascension into Heaven with God because his ministry on earth was finished. This is when Jesus tells the disciples that he will come again. Do people mix religion and politics in the same way that people in Jerusalem did and ended up crucifying Jesus?

People definitely mix religion and politics in the same way that the people of Jerusalem did. I feel like many times people have a really tough time understanding something that is completely different than what they believe or think, especially with religion, because what they are taught certain thing and their view of religion is off based on that and what they hear about other religions. Our society often views religion as bad because of “religious” events that have happened that are bad or because of the people that give religions a bad reputation. The bad often overpowers the good. This is all where politics come in with religion. It becomes more of a debate whether things happen because of religion or not. Certain religious groups, such as Jews, are looked at as being “bad” because of them many parables that are still used today to change lives.
