1] Welcome address
– A very good evening to all the wonderful people present today… Its a pleasure to start this auspicious occasion by heartily welcoming every body to the 8th founder’s day of our school, which once again brings to the forefront the creative proclivities of our students in the most proclaimed manner. On behalf of Welspun Vidya Mandir family, I take this opportunity to welcome our honorable chief guest for the evening A multifaceted man of rich varied experience in the field of Medicine, is presently the in Gujarat state he has received many awards. We also have with us , Shree B.B. Sharmaji, Director, Operations, Welspun India Limited,Mrs.Sandhya Sharma,Mr.and Mrs. Tandon,Director Met Trade limited and other senior dignitaries from Welspun. Our school maintains close ties with other schools. We are happy to have with us Mr. Subodh Thapaliyal, Principal, Delhi Public School, Gandhidham, Mr. Rashmikant Makwana, Principal, Adani Public School, Mundra, Mrs. Ritu Agarwal, Principal, Euro Kids, Adipur and Mr. Mehul Trivedi, Principal, Aum Vidya Mandir, Gandhidham.

An extra special word of welcome must go to all our friends, family and generous guests who have traveled far and wide to share today with us This is an annual event that we organize to provide to our students a big platform to display their talents which cannot be exhibited in a classroom in the regular course of studies. 2] Lighting of the Lamp

Gitanjali –I now invite Ma’am Kavita and Maam Neeraj to proceed for the lighting of the lamp. Thank you Sreerag for the inspiring prayer in praise of Lord Ganesha. 3] Felicitation

I now invite our Principal Mrs. Kavita Tandon, Primary Head – Mrs. Neeraj Katoch, School Head Boy Naman Agrawal and School Head Girl Shreya Parmar to felicitate our chief guest. Thank you Ma’am.

Now Chakshika Chaplot of grade XI along with Unmesh Dinda of grade X will take you through the ceremony this evening. #] Introduction [theme]

Unmesh —[Theme] The theme for our Annual Day this year is Fusion. Life is a beautiful combination of colours, emotions and phases. Today through our programme we are making a humble attempt to celebrate that fusion which life is all about.

4] Chakshika: Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of music and all the creative arts. Saraswati is called the mother of the Veda’s and the repository of Brahma’s creative intelligence. Saraswati is also called Vak Devi, the goddess of speech. Today our school Choir is presenting a song in praise of Goddess Saraswati.

After the song- The students were trained for this melodious hymn by the Head of the Music Department Mr. Rutav Pathak. Thank you, sir.

5] Play House and L.K.G—
Chakshika –Have you ever wondered why there are seasons? Wouldn’t it be great if it was spring all year or summer? Seasons are wonderful! Without them, we cannot play in yellow, red, and orange leaves when autumn comes our way, have fun in the extra hot sun in the summer time, watch snowflakes fall during winter, or enjoy the chilly mornings and blooming flowers of early spring. The little ones of Play House and L.K.G are here to depict the different seasons. End– Parents please note, this is the junior most class. The children are below 3 years.

6] Unmesh –Class I A and C— Yoga and Aerobics — Do you all want to know what is the key to stay healthy and happy ? It is an easy formula – all you need to do is indulge yourself in a regular physical activity and follow a balanced diet. Aerobics, exercises and yoga are wide-spread ways of achieving better health for the health-conscious people of the world .The term “aerobic” means “in the presence of oxygen,”And Yoga in Sanskrit stands for connection, or union. The students of Grade I A and I B are going to display their skills in aerobics and yoga.

End – Indeed very refreshing I think we can definitely try out these exercises and relax our body and mind .A very big thank you Ma’am Anju and Ma’am Navneeta for training the little ones. 7] Chakisha — Koli Dance: [Class d Class IA, D—We now have a fusion of two dance forms Tribal and western. We begin with a Koli dance by the students of Grade I . Koli is one of the most popular folk dance form of Maharashtra State that derives its name from the fishermen commonly known as the Kolis; hence aptly called the “Koli Nritya” or “Koli Dance”. Unmesh –Harsha B – A lot of western influence is seen in the metro cities of India. People tend to be modernized and for some the definition of being modern is to speak English, Look English and even Dance on foot tapping English music . The modern students of Grade I are all set to show us some wonderful steps on western music. End– An incredible fusion of two different dance forms.

The students were guided by Ma’am Harsha, Ma’am Rajuli AND Ma’am Shreesha. 8] Chakisha—[Class II A, B and C Parents]– It is human nature, to take others for granted especially those who are very close to them. We sometimes ignore and fail to realize the importance of parents in our lives. And when most of us do realize their importance; it is either too late or much time has been lost. Life is a journey and we go through different stages in it. Today life has become more of a race. People, instead of enjoying it, want to win it. Their career and their activities have become so important for them that their loved ones are of lesser value to them. With time our attitude towards our parents has changed. The students of Grade II are presenting a short skit and dance to show the importance of parents in our life and why we should respect them. End –Thank you children for reminding us to appreciate and love our parents as they are the most expensive treasure we have. This beautiful dance was guided by Ma’am Monica, Ma’am Jyoti and Ma’am Jayshree.

9] Unmesh– U.K.G A and B– Children and animals have always been best of friends. Not only do children have a natural affection for furry, four-legged creatures. They can also learn a lot from their animal friends. A farm is very special place small children specially when they have to go for a picnic. The students of U.K.G A and B are all set to visit Old MacDonald’s farm to see the different animals and birds and have some fun with them.

End— Thank you children. Really enjoyable the little ones need a huge round of applause for entertaining us and reminding us of our school days. The students were guided by Ma’am Asma, Ma’am Rekha, Ma’am Ritu and Ma’am Trishna.

10] Chakisha –Class IV – Women are an integral part of society but every now and then they are crushed, cursed and sacrificed by the male dominant society, according to their need. Women are the creators and their heart is an ocean of love and concern. The students of Grade IV are presenting a dance as a tribute to all the women who deserve equal respect and love from the society. The dance includes a fusion of tandav, Arabian ,contemporary , samba and folk dance . END— This incredible dance was choreographed by Ma’am Jaya Chande and Ma’am Shampa. 11] Unmesh — U.K.G c and D –Flowers have played a key role all throughout human history. Traces of their usefulness can be found in various religious texts, folk tales, and myths. Flowers also play an important role in making the life of a human being more cheerful and happy. The most important function that flowers have, however, is their power to convey profound human emotions and thoughts the way no other object can. The little flowers of U.K.G C and D are presenting a fusion of flowers and musical notes on some wonderful songs.

End— Wow! Really wonderful to see the beauty of nature presented so beautifully by the little ones of U.K.G .The students were guided by Ma’am Beena, Ma’am Madhushree, Ma’am Meenakshi, and Ma’am Momita. 12] Unmesh –Class III– India is probably the only country in the world where people belonging to different religions, castes and creeds, having different cultures, worshiping different gods and deity live together in perfect harmony. Emotional unity plays its own part. The students of Grade3 are presenting a dance with different ragas , lamps, and colours depicting our integrity. End – Wow! Indeed incredible. Parents kindly note there were 97 students in this group. The students were guided and trained by Ma’am Rupali, Ma’am Puja, Ma’am and Vandana Upadhiya. 13]

Chakisha –Aanganwadi children Welspun is not only one of the largest corporate houses in Kutch, but also an organization that realizes its moral and social responsibilities towards those helping hands that have made Welspun what it is today. It has therefore taken the initiative of starting “Welspun Aanganwadi”- a day school for the children of the workers colony, as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility. We now have the tiny toddlers of Welspun Aanganwadi presenting a dance on the song “_Akdam Bakadam. After the dance- The dance performed by these little ones was choreographed by Maam Vijaya, Maam Alpa, Maam Meena and Maam Shivani.

14] Unmesh —[Happiness—L.K.G A and B] – Life can be tricky. Life can be sticky. Life can be fun. Life can be sad. But one thing is for sure, life changes like the weather, and we can either “go with the flow” or fight it .What is the use of worrying? It never was worth while, so pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag, and smile, smile, smile as the little ones of L.K.G A and B are here to take us into their world of dreams and happiness and show us that the time to be happy is now and the place to be happy is here. End– Really an incredible act and hats off to the teachers who have trained these little wonders. 15] Annual Report Annual Report by Maam Kavita — Gitanjali: , I would like to call upon our respected Principal, Ma’am Kavita Tandon to present a brief agenda and highlight the achievements of our school in her annual report. End Thank you ma’am.

17] Unmesh– Class V Shadow Dance– The next presentation is a fusion of shadow dance and drama that displays the dreamland of a little child. Through this performance the participants are trying to depict the insight of a child’s mind. The child has created a beautiful world of his own and dwells in it to seek beauty, peace and hope. His world provides him an escape from the boring and lethargic experience he faces every day. When he awakes he finds himself refreshed and enthusiastic to again follow the monotonous routine of his life. But the question arises are we not capable to provide a real world to our children which is devoid of concern, sorrow and suffering. End — An exceptionally wonderful concept. I would like to call all the participants of this act on the stage who have given us such a wonderful treat .I request the audience to give them a huge round of applause. The students were guided by Ma’am Rita , Ma’am Anjana and Ma’am Priyanka. 18] Chief Guest’s Address

Gitanjali–I would now like to invite our chief guest to come and say a few words. After the speech —Thank you sir/ ma’am for giving us your precious time from your busy schedule. 19Prize Distribution [The School Toppers, Teachers and the Menial staff ] Gitanjali —

We are now going to take a very short break and going to felicitate the proud students of class X for the academic session 2011-12 who have really made us proud and have brought laurels to the school. We begin with our School Topper. 14] Prize Distribution (15 min ) Gitanjali –

We are now going to take a short break and going to felicitate the proud students of class X for the academic session 2010-11 who have really made us proud and have brought laurels to the school. The school is presenting them a Welspun towel with their name embroided on it. I would request to please come and do the honours. I also request their class teacher Ma’am Kirti Thapa to escort the students. Parents please note the students are toppers in the subjects mentioned along with their names. We begin with.

Gitanjali—Children are like wet cement, whatever falls on them makes an impression. Here a teacher plays an important role in moulding a child’s future so that he is ready to take up the challenges of life. The teacher also influences a child’s overall personality and helps him to reason out things for himself with a liberal mind. The management awards two teachers and one maintenance staff member every year for their dedication hardwork and commitment throughout the year. I would now invite Maam Kavita to declare the awards. Thank you Maam.

20] Chakisha Class VI Colours – Welcome back—Unmesh can you Imagine a world without colour? Everything would be in monochrome. The feeling would be equivalent to living in a black and white television. There would be not much variation and everything would be of the same shades, black and white. That would be so gray, sad and gloomy. Colour is involved in almost every aspect of our lives. Ever wondered how on fusing two colours together one gets a new colour .The students of Grade six are here not to spread colours only on the stage but in our lives as well. End— An extremely colourful and mind blowing performance. We even got to learn and see that the combination of any two primary colors creates a secondary color. This colourful dance was choreographed by Ma’am Monali and Ma’am Preeti. 21] Unmesh–Class VII Unmesh— Sargam] It is a fact that we are all more alike than we are different.

Perhaps we are the only living forms on earth who are blessed with different languages. This dance is a fusion of two languages that are exploring ways to ensure the greatest amount of harmony between each other and pass on the message of unity in diversity. [pic]End—Indeed a mesmerizing performance by the students of Grade VII, reminding us that United we stand and Divided we fall. This wonderful dance was choreographed by Ma’am Vijaya with the help of Ma’am Deepa. Parents please note all the wonderful props for the entire programme were made by Ma’am Jaya Hingorani and Ma’am Sunita Dinda. 22] Chakisha – Class X – Simply yet truly said by Charlie Chaplin. “Only that which emotes from the heart can reach the heart of others”. The students of Grade X are here to present a dance fusion of the melody king Kishore Kumar and “The tramp, Charlie Charplin” followed by some wonderful stunts by the boys of Grade X . End – That was a fabulous performance with some breathtaking stunts.

The students were guided by Ma’am Namita Agrawal, Ma’am Kirti and Hiren Sir. 23] Unmesh– Class VIII – We are told that that everything in nature is made up of the 5 basic elements.[pic]They are the Corner Stones of CREATION, because they are in everything. They are live, throbbing with activity and breathe beauty. Each element’s existence depends on the others presence. This fusion of elements and their co-existence in harmony is very beautifully displayed through various dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Salsa, Break Dance and Contemporary. End— A praise worthy performance by the students. The students were trained by Ma’am Vandana Nair and Ma’am Bindu Verma. 24] Chakisha — Class IX– Women have the most important role in our life, still she is deprived of freedom and identity. It is from her lips and laps, a child begins his learning. Yet her contribution is not recognized by the family and society. Through the fusion of mime and Indian Ballet the students of Grade IX are here to celebrate her personhood. End –

25] Unmesh —Western Dance: Mixed Group –And now for the most awaited performance of the evening. The next group is presenting various western dance forms including the fusion of locking, Popping, hip-hop, lyrical hip-hop, Contemporary and B- Boying. Through this dance the dancers are trying to send across a message of the importance of education in our life. The following dance is being presented by a mixed group including students from Grade VI to X. End — I think these mind blowing dancers have left every one foot tapping with their awesome foot steps. The students were guided by Sir Sandeep Issrani with the help of Debadithaya a student of Grade X

Neeta Ma’am [Classical fusion] Hindi—
End –Such a graceful performance with such perfect synchronization. Indeed remarkable. The students were guided by our school dance teacher Ma’am Neeta Vidhani. Gitanjali—It is with Zealous Zest and a vibrant vigour that we will continue our voyage in the field of education and co curricular activities and strive to reach excellence in all spheres. The programme would indeed be incomplete if we did not express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our Principal Ma’am Kavita, who stood by us at each and every phase of the execution of this programme. Till we meet again our sincere thanks to the entire Welspun Vidya Mandir Family who have always been so supportive. I now request every one to stand up for the National Anthem
